The information in this newsflash applies to the Retained Servicing Loans that transferred from Cenlar to ServiceMac effective September 1, 2019.
Remember: Customers may not be used to seeing or hearing the company names of Cenlar or ServiceMac. These names are referenced in this communication for clarity. When referencing these two entities with customers, be sure to use terms such as “our former subservicer for Fairway” and “our current subservicer for Fairway”.
On their website, Cenlar published their 1098 Mortgage Interest Statements for 2019 for the Retained Servicing Loans that transferred to Fairway/ServiceMac. This 1098 statement from Cenlar represents the figures for the time period they serviced the mortgage loan during 2019 before the servicing transfer.
Customers whose accounts were registered on the Cenlar website with e-Docs (their customer email system) received a Fairway branded email from Cenlar advising of the availability of this document.

Should customers inquire about this email:
- Advise customers the email was sent from Cenlar, the former subservicer for Fairway, who serviced their loan in 2019 prior to the September 1, 2019 servicing transfer
- This is a legitimate and valid email from Fairway’s former subservicer (Cenlar)
- Customers must contact Cenlar regarding Log In information to that website or specific questions about the 1098 Statement they generated
Make sure to remind these customers they will receive a 1098 Statement from Cenlar, the former subservicer for Fairway, and they will receive a 1098 Statement from ServiceMac, the current subservicer for Fairway.
