Customers who file damage claims with their Homeowner’s Insurance company receive a Loss Draft Claim Check made payable to them and to their mortgage servicer. Home or property damage may occur after a loan transfers to the new Servicer but before the insurance company updates their records with the new Servicer’s information. When this occurs, the check is issued payable to the customer(s) and to Fairway.
Not all Servicers will agree to endorse a Loss Draft Claim Check if it is payable to Fairway.
- Customers whose loans are transferred to a new Servicer must have the check endorsed by their new Servicer in order to deposit it and must follow all guidelines as required by the new Servicer
- Customers whose loans are Retained Servicing with Fairway through our subservicer, ServiceMac, must contact the Loss Draft Insurance Claims Department for assistance and for check endorsement requirements
