Payer's/Borrower's Name:
- Names of the borrower and coborrower as listed on FICS will be printed
- Fairway is unable to change the order of the names as they appear on the 1098 statement, as within compliance with IRS guidelines
Payer's/Borrower's TIN:
- TIN is the Tax Identification Number, which is the Social Security Number (SSN)
- Only the SSN of the borrower listed in the first/primary position in FICS will be printed on the 1098 statement
- Fairway is unable to change the SSN number to the number of another borrower, as within compliance with IRS guidelines
- Customers should consult with a tax preparer for information and assistance with multiple individuals claiming the interest reported on a mortgage loan from the 1098 Mortgage Interest Statement
